Laila Tara H
In homage to her Iranian heritage, artist Laila Tara H takes inspiration from the rich history of Indo-Persian miniatures, carefully deconstructing them to explore themes such as gender roles and the subtle politics of our day-to-day lives. Though small in scale, each work is packed with detail, often achieved with the precision of a single-haired brush and using pigments that are either naturally derived or created from found materials. In her new solo exhibition at Cooke Latham gallery, Laila invites viewers to move through a ‘day’ via her intricately detailed works. The exhibition will run from 20 June to 19 July.
