Emmanuel Awuni (b. 1993, Accra, Ghana) lives and works in London. He holds a BA Fine art from Goldsmiths, University of London.
Emmanuel’s practice uses the formal structure of indigenous singing, call and response as a mode to layer and unify the relationship between conceptual thoughts and the manifestation of objects. This structure of composition allows painting, sculpture, text or performance to seamlessly flow with each other.
